tourist offices and information points | GIGNAC
Gignac is a place in the Hérault valley where legend, history and tradition mix. Here, belief in the beneficence of the Virgin Mary is commemorated every year through l'Ane (donkey) Martin, celebrating the totem animal and protector of the village that is thought to have saved its people from the Saracen attack in 719. Medieval towers, churches, 17th century private hotel, bridges, fountains, ancient wash houses, canals, Gignac has an abundance of exceptional heritage, a medieval and modern city in all its splendour.
