monument | CAPESTANG
Summer residence of the Archbishops of Narbonne, this castle, located in the Capestang town centre, houses a magnificent painted ceiling dating from the 15th century. The paintings depict many scenes of the period – religious, gallantry, fantastic animals – and an interpretation centre provides keys to ‘reading’ the ceiling plus a history of the castle.
