park / garden / forest / nature reserve | BALARUC LES BAINS
This antique garden offers a discovery of the Mediterranean flora during Gallo-Roman time. This commented visit will allow you to learn how plants were used at that time, the symbol of each plant as well as their medicinal and culinary virtues.
Designed like a house (domus), the garden expands around 7 rooms (cellulae) and follows a route through low bush alleys (gestationes) and pleasant shaded walkways (ambulationes). It will teach you the ways Mediterranean societies used to perceive the natural environment and how they made the most of it.
