religious site | QUARANTE
Founded in the 10th century, the Sainte Marie de Quarante Abbey Church has been modified several times, but has always kept its key aspects of pure romanesque architecture specific to Languedoc.
It contains various treasures, in particular, a sarcophagus from the 3rd century and a piece of jewellery from the 15th century depicting the head of Saint John the Baptist.
